Aunt Dan and Lemon

We're behind on posting, no doubt. This won't be a long one, mostly photos, but I hope it will tide you over for a bit.

Below are some pics of the most recent main stage production at The Idiom, the local theatre I've been getting involved with. I use the term "main stage" loosely, as they only have one stage, but they do lots of small works, one weekend deals. Main stage at this theatre, then, in my mind, denotes productions that run for several weeks. They are the shows that actors get paid for. The moolah is minimal, but, heck, it's still pretty cool to finally get even a small check for acting.

Anyways, the show was called Aunt Dan and Lemon. It was the only unoriginal work produced at The Idiom this season. Our audiences were small, possibly for a number of reasons, but I had a good experience regardless. Those of you who've seen me act before know that I most often get cast as young girls or spindly old women. In this show, I was cast to play Mindy, an English woman with strong sex appeal to the fellows, you might say. So, it was a challenge, but I think I managed to pull it off. If I didn't, I had fun trying.

Contrary to the pics below, my role in this show was quite small. Most of the time, it was Aunt Dan and Lemon alone on stage, as the title suggests. You know, though, this is my blog, so I can milk the stage time I did have for all it was worth. Yeah! Hell yeah! ....uh.... I should still say that the real credit in this show goes to Sarah (Aunt Dan) and Karen (Lemon), however, both whom of which spent countless hours memorizing alone. Okay, here we go:

I was in a "Midnight at Eleven" show last month at The Idiom as well. It was something the artistic director of the theatre, Mike M., put together in about a week. He called it The Many Works of Delilah Drake, and it turned out to be a really fun little one-act. We had a great audience, very responsive, which always makes live theatre more fun. Unfortunately, I have no photos to share. Oh well, eh?
