Oyster Dome

In early September, Mike and I attempted to hike Oyster Dome again. This time, Mike had hiking boots, rather than a pair of shoes with nearly worn-through soles. We also had Amy and Milo to boost morale. There are a few pretty steep legs on this six and a half mile hike. It was good prep for our trip through the Enchantments, which I'll blog about in another post or two here.

On our way back down, we rested a while to watch this paraglider soar:

You can watch him, too:

I look forward to spending more time atop Oyster Dome next year. We'll have to pack a picnic. Shortly before making it to the top, there's a spur off the main trail that leads to "the bat caves." We HAVE to see those next time!

  1. This looks like a great way to enjoy your time off. I wouldn't mind checking it out myself.
