Relax, Have a Homebrew

Yeah-haha... We brew beer now.  We're home-brewers.  Mmm-hm.  Cool, huh? Mike's friend Brandon is in Turkey for a while and has trusted us to take care of his home brewing equipment.  We made a trade.  Before Brandon departed, we agreed that we'd stash (or use) his stuff in exchange for him teaching us to to brew.  Well, it was a good trade, as far as we were concerned.  As promised, Brandon and Rachel came over and helped us start our first batch.  Here's what ya do...

Mix some stuff together in a big ol' pot.  Stuff like water, hops, and malt extract.

Transfer the goods from the pot to a bucket, add some yeast, and let it ferment in the bucket for a week.

Transfer again from bucket to carboy.  Don't forget to filter.  Be patient for another week! Check the gravity and other scientific stuff.

Get your bottles ready, and sanitize the heck out of 'em.

Bottle your beer and wait another two weeks.

After four total weeks of waiting, set one bottle aside for Brandon who is now in Turkey.  Then ...

...Relax.  Have a homebrew.
