Fort Ebey

A month or more ago, Dana and Rich and I took the pooches down to Fort Ebey on Whidbey Island. The area, which now offers miles of hiking trails, was a coastal defense fort during World War II. Dana and Rich had been there before and said that, on a clear day, the views are gorgeous. I can't say I got much of a taste for those views, as it was awfully foggy when I went, but the fog has its own way of enchanting a hiker, nonetheless. Here are some pics of our afternoon adventure:

Notice how the above tree(s) is/are rooted into the ground twice
and connected by the large diagonal limb that cuts across the center of the photo. Pretty cool, eh?

Foggy, but still worth a look, wouldn't you say?

See what I mean about the fog? It sure does make some things look gorgeous.
