Follow-Up Posts: Seattle and Darts/Dates

As a follow-up to a couple of Mike's recent posts...

At the close of his Seattle adventure, B and J drove Mike back up to B-ham that Sunday night. After a full throttle big city weekend, they were looking for a little small city time to cool down. So, we invited them to spend the night at our place where we played some Apples to Apples before sacking out. The next day, Mike was the only one who had to work, so I got a little solo time of my own with Brad and Jessica and took them up to Ferndale (any regular readers of this blog may recognize the name, as that's where the great petting zoo/farm adventure took place last summer). We went to the fragrance garden, the viewing tower, and the farm. I think the highlight for all of us was when we ran into a farm-hand with his pet goose following him like a puppy. It was pretty awesome, and I think we all missed Dad and Flash a whole lot at the sight of such a friendly guy with such a loyal pet.

I don't know if darts came before or after this, as Mike and I have been having all sorts of fun dates lately, but we recently discovered an amazing local ice creamery. Is that what you'd call a store that sells ice cream that is made there, not purchased elsewhere? Well, anyways, it's called Mallard Ice Cream, and speaking as somewhat of an ice cream connoisseur, I'm going to go ahead and say it may be the best I've ever tasted. Really, it was that good. Below is a picture of the shop. We'd be happy to let you see and taste it for yourself when you come visit.
