This one is a former Minesweeper. The other, the Carlisle, is a former ferry boat. It's pretty awesome that the city sponsors these tours periodically as a way to preserve its cultural heritage. I wish I had more to tell you about the history of these boats, but we arrived at 3:30, and the exhibit ended at 4:00, so we didn't spend much time listening to the owners, and most of our time exploring the ins and outs. The ship above can sleep almost 20 people rather comfortably. It has a handful of little rooms in the bottom-half of the boat that each stagger 3 single beds. We saw a full laundry, an extensive kitchen including a restaurant-style grill, and a 2-stall bathroom with a shower. I'm beginning to rethink this whole "living on land" thing. Unfortunately, these suckers ain't cheap. I didn't want to ask, but one of the owners we talked to made it pretty clear that he was one of MANY owners of the ship, and had put a whole lot of work into getting it fixed up.
The other ship is a former ferry. We had even less time on this ship, but captured a few nice photos:
