Christmas!

Finally, we're getting around to a Christmas post!  Well, it was another good one...   A nice quiet Christmas Eve at our house - just Mike, the girls, and me.  We made a turkey roulade and, of course, used Grandma Bernie's recipe for pumpkin pie!  The pooches got that new dog bed they were hoping for, and Santa brought Mike some new Nintendo Wii toys.  I was so lucky as to receive some new books to get me through the rest of the winter - and damn good books to boot (see the photo below)!

On Christmas Day, we took our neighbors up on their invitation to have us over.  They made a delicious meal, gifted us with some homemade treats (jam and jalapeno jelly - YUM!), and gave us much to feel merry about.  We're so lucky to have them in our backyard!

2011 was a fine, fine year.  Heck, we did get married and all!  And, good news... I made my 2011 New Year's resolution, which was not to buy any clothing all year.  For 2012, I've declared that I:

• will discard/donate/consign an article of clothing for every new article of clothing I do purchase, and...
• will open an Etsy shop!
